Kubish to Barzani: We hope to accelerate the formation of the Kurdistan government

The Euphrates -

UN Special Envoy to Iraq Jan Kubic expressed his hope to accelerate the formation of the Kurdistan government after the parliamentary elections last month.

This came Tuesday, during the reception of the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Massoud Barzani Kubic and the delegation in Erbil.

Although the final results of the provincial elections were not announced, according to preliminary results, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) showed clear progress on its rivals, making it a major player in the Kurdistan region.

The two sides discussed the developments of the Iraqi political process and the legislative elections held in the region last month.

Kubic hoped that the Kurdistan Elections Commission will announce the final results soon, so that Kurdistan will begin forming a new parliament, which will result in a new government.

The Kurdistan Parliament elections were held on September 30 and a new government is expected to face political and economic challenges, the most important of which is reform, combating corruption and providing employment opportunities for young people.
