"Iraq will not be a platform for political differences, but a meeting point for all," said Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Mohammad Halboussi.

He stressed in a press conference in Cairo that «Iraq will not be part of the policy axes in the region», stressing that the Iraqi parliament will support the government in the fight against corruption in the country.

Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Medbouli met with Halabousi on his first visit to Egypt after assuming the presidency of the new parliament. He praised the cooperation between the two countries in the oil sector and expressed Egypt's readiness to cooperate in the reconstruction of Iraq.

Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri met yesterday with Halboussi and discussed means of developing bilateral relations and reviewing the latest developments on the Arab arena.

Halabousi participated in the meeting of the Arab Parliament, headed by Meshaal al-Salami, who confirmed that he agreed with Halabousi to continue coordination and consultation to support joint Arab parliamentary action, support Iraq's reconstruction efforts, and support efforts to help Iraqi refugees and displaced persons. Terrorism is intellectually supported by its security and military struggle.
