The Euphrates -

Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, leader of the victory coalition, met Saturday with the candidate of the Democratic Party of Kurdistan to the presidency of Iraq Fuad Hussein, while political sources confirmed the existence of moves to resolve the positions of the President of the Republic and ministers with one basket.

The media office of the Prime Minister said Abadi discussed with the candidate of the Barzani party two issues: the vote on the post of President of the Republic scheduled to take place next Tuesday, as well as arrangements for the formation of the new government.

He pointed out in a statement that the two sides discussed the overall political situation in the country, stressing the need for the next government to undertake the task of construction and reconstruction, and provide employment opportunities, and maintain the achievements in the fight against terrorism, security stability and external relations. Noting that the Democratic Party of Kurdistan stipulated the vote for his candidate (Fouad Hussein) in Tuesday's session, in return for supporting the candidate of the parliamentary bloc for prime minister, adding that things will be more evident in the parliament session scheduled for the second of next month.

Dalia Farhad, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), said her party was holding the post of president of the republic, denying reports that he had been replaced with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) as governor of Kirkuk.

She pointed out that the Kurdistan Democratic Party deserves the post, because it is the majority of the numerical and the mass in Kurdistan, indicating during a press statement that the presidency of the share of the Kurds, and not the monopoly of a particular party.

"The Kurdistan Democratic Party wants to get the job, to improve the tracks with Baghdad, which has been marred by differences over the past years."

She added that 'her party believes that the acquisition of the post gives him strength and momentum, especially since the candidate has a strong personality, through which to revive this post, which turned to two protocols because of the last session'.

The candidate of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Barham Salih, had announced earlier on Saturday adherence to the nomination for the presidency of Iraq, explaining that the reason for sticking is that the position of the eligibility of his party.

He said he has great acceptance among the rest of the political partners, and the blocks that have expressed support for his nomination, indicating that the political parties are convinced of its strong relationship with all components and communities of Iraq.

Iraqi parliament speaker Mohamed Halabousi has set a deadline for the new president to be elected. Seven candidates - Barham Salih, Fouad Hussein, Serwa Abdel-Wahid, Abdul Latif Rashid, Kamal Qutli, Sardar Abdullah and Salim Hamza - have met all the conditions for the nomination.
