The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Hassan Karim al-Kaabi on Saturday condemned the attack on a military parade in the southern Iranian city of Ahvaz.

"We condemn and condemn the attack against the Iranian army and Revolutionary Guards during a military parade in the southwestern city of Ahwaz this morning," al-Kaabi said in a statement.

He expressed regret that "there are a large number of casualties among the Iranian military forces and among the civilians of women and children."

"We sympathize with the people of our neighbor, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and stand with them in their wounds, and we hope that peace and security will prevail over all the peoples of the world.

On Saturday, an armed force attacked a military parade in the city of Ahwaz on the occasion of the anniversary of the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s.

The movement adopted the "Ahwaz" attack, while Tehran pledged to respond "decisively and quickly" to those behind him.

At least 12 people were killed and 60 wounded in the attack.
