Earlier protests in Khanaqin over lack of services

A member of the provincial council of Diyala Hoshyar Ismail Karam, on Saturday, that the district of Khanaqin complains deprivation of projects reconstruction fund, stressing that 40% of its infrastructure destroyed.

"The International Reconstruction Fund has not implemented any service project in Khanaqin, which has provided more than 140,000 displaced persons with hundreds of returnees over the past years," Karam told Basnews. "This density and population momentum is destroying most of the judicial infrastructure, And international rehabilitation ».

He pointed out that «the displacement crisis witnessed by Khanaqin caused the increase of neighborhoods and residential villages, causing pressure on the Khanaqin and damaged roads and sewage and drinking water complexes and energy depletion», stressing that »42 electric transformers and damage to electricity networks, amid the absence and neglect of the reconstruction fund to spend Khanaqin, which is no less damaged by the damage of liberated areas ».

He called on the member of the Diyala Provincial Council on the list of «Kurdish brotherhood and coexistence» Reconstruction Fund and the government «a serious turn to spend Khanaqin and save from the decline of service and economic over the past four years, and the implementation of projects that meet the need of justice and the amount of damage suffered».
