The head of parliament Mohammed Halbousi announced the orientation on Tuesday to the city of Basra to see the situation of the city, which saw protests that affected the victims.

"I thank all the members of the House of Representatives for giving confidence to contribute to the consolidation of the principles of the Constitution," Halboussi said in a speech during the session. "I am referring to the benefits of the current phase and working with the executive and independent institutions away from partisan and sectarianism.

He stressed the importance of working in the reconstruction of liberated areas, improving services and continuing the reform process.

He added 'corruption and underdevelopment caused poverty and decline in the joints of life in Iraq, pointing to the lack of acceptance of targeting the House of Representatives and resort to the use of legal means to hold accountable those who targeted the Council unlawfully.
