(KUNA) - The Amir of Kuwait, Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, presented Kuwait with a grant to Iraq on Thursday for four ambulances and medical equipment valued at 1.8 million US dollars.

According to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the grant was presented at an official ceremony in the Green Zone in Baghdad, attended by the Secretary General of the Iraqi Council of Ministers Mehdi Alalak, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq Salim Al Zamanan, a number of Iraqi officials and a representative of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society.

Al-Aalak said: "The grant of these ambulances comes within the framework of continuing Kuwait's support for the humanitarian file in the liberated provinces of the so-called Bada'sh."

Ambassador Zamanan said: "The grant is part of Kuwait's assistance to the brothers in Iraq, as part of Kuwait's campaign beside you, launched by the Emir of Kuwait, to face the difficult conditions left by the intimidation in some areas of Iraq."

The grant is provided by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society to the provinces of Anbar, Ninawa, Kirkuk and Salahuddin;
