The spokesman for the government media cell Abdul-Zahra al-Hindawi for the experimental launch of the water project of Basra, after the completion of technical works and reach 90% completion rate in preparation for its launch next month, which will provide 40% of the need for water conservation.

Hindawi said in a press conference held on Thursday the importance of the decisions of the Council of Ministers recently issued on the water crisis in Basra, including the guidance of the local government to establish 8 stations to desalinate and liquidate water immediately, after granting the governor of Basra broad powers to implement.

The province of Basra, Iraq's richest province of oil and the only city overlooking the sea, since the middle of August, a health crisis with water pollution, which led to the injury of more than 30 thousand people were treated in hospitals.
