The official spokesman of the Ministry of Planning Abdul-Zahra al-Hindawi said in a statement received by "Economy News" that "the establishment of this vital project came on the basis of a study prepared by the ministry and was discussed at length by many relevant authorities, including the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Higher Committee for Investment and Reconstruction and the Ministry of Construction and Housing And the municipalities - Baghdad Governorate - Municipality of Baghdad - National Investment Authority - the Central Bank of Iraq - the center of regional and urban planning at the University of Baghdad - the College of Urban Planning at the University of Kufa, "noting that" the study was submitted to the Council of Ministers for discussion Which will include the creation of the new administrative city and civil center in Baghdad. "

He pointed out that "the Ministry of Planning will work to determine the detailed location of the administrative city with an area of ​​30 - 50 square kilometers in coordination with the relevant authorities and complete the procedures for the allocation of land for the project," adding that "the project requires the Ministry of Planning to work on the preparation of basic and detailed designs of the administrative city in In light of the need of ministries and their institutions, as well as the development of the area extending from the martyr monument to the monument of the unknown soldier, which includes most of the ministries at the moment, which qualifies it to be a new civilian center in the city of Baghdad, which includes cultural, social and tourism.

He explained that "this project will be of great importance in improving the urban and administrative reality of the capital Baghdad through the opening of the capital on the parties and pull the momentum in the center, while at the same time turning the city center into an important civil center."
