On Thursday, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi issued a decree to exempt Faleh al-Fayadh from his duties as national security advisor and head of the Popular Popular Authority.

"The decision came in view of Mr. Faleh al-Fayyad's involvement in political and party work and his desire to deal with political affairs, which is contrary to the sensitive security tasks he carries out."

He added, «based on the Iraqi constitution in the neutrality of the security and intelligence services and the law of the popular mobilization and regulations and instructions contained in this regard and our directives that prevent the exploitation of sensitive security positions in party activities, and based on the powers vested us decided to exempt Mr. Faleh Fayadh of all his duties».

The statement stressed that the resolution will be implemented from the date of its issuance.

The Iraqi sources have talked about efforts to nominate Faleh al-Fayadh to head the next government, which caused differences between him and Abadi.

Al-Fayadh is the bloc of 'Ata' in the list of 'victory' led by Abbadi, who may lose 30 seats in the event of dissolution of the deputies of Fayyad.
