The Ninewa investigation court on Monday confirmed the confessions of two suspects in possession of a gold coin belonging to the criminal organization Da'ash, confirming that the defendants had kept these pieces to finance the organization financially.

"An ambush was set up by the Intelligence and Terrorism Control Directorate of Nineveh and on the basis of judicial orders, which led to the arrest of two suspects and possession of a gold coin belonging to the organization of a supporter of the terrorist in order to sell and fund the organization with financial amounts," the official spokesman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Abdul Sattar Birqdar, said in a statement.

"The Ninewa investigation court on terrorism issues has confirmed their confessions after finding 276 pieces in their possession," Berkdar said, noting that "the weight of one piece reaches more than 4 grams, while the total weight of all pieces reaches more than 1 kilogram."
