He noted a member of the High Commission for Human Rights in Iraq that the Office of the Commission asked the Department of Health Basrah, a statement of his position on the new disaster and measures taken to reduce this poisoning increased and indicate the cause of water pollution.

The Iraqi Ministry of Water Resources has warned earlier of the escalation of salinity rates in the Shatt al-Arab in Basra because of the pumping of salt water to the Iraqi side, while the country faces a drought crisis led to tribal disputes south.

In a previous statement last month, the Ministry of Resources indicated that the concentration of salt in the area of Seihan, which is the location of the mouth of the Karun River in the Shatt al-Arab, reached (25000) ppm compared to (2000) ppm in the area of two pamphlets in the high Shat, and this is due to two reasons: first, the pumping of brackish water in this period of the year from the Iranian side, as happened in previous years, as well as the high tide that drives the water in the direction of the center of the city of Basra.
