The Euphrates -

Kadhim al-Kaabi, a political analyst, revealed Wednesday that the United States is trying to stop trade between the Iraqi government and Iran after Washington imposed economic sanctions on Tehran.

Al-Kaabi said in a press statement that "the US State Department seeks to stop the trade movement between Tehran and Baghdad on a final basis through threats to impose sanctions against Iraq in the event of non-compliance with US sanctions on Iran," pointing out that "Iraq's commitment to sanctions against Tehran will expose the country's economy to shrink during Next period". Adding that the Iraqi government is able to deal with Iran in local currencies of the two countries away from the dollar during the next phase, "noting that" Tehran and Baghdad have cooperated previously dealing in the local currency of the two countries and can be cooperation on this basis after the imposition of US economic sanctions on Tehran. "

"The commitment of current Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to the US sanctions imposed on Iran is a wrong policy and a deliberate individual action," he said, adding that "Tehran is the closest to Baghdad in international trade and cooperation from Washington."
