Shafaq News / The Ministry of Agriculture revealed that the agricultural sector in the country was affected by 50 percent due to drought and lack of water revenues.
"The agricultural sector was affected by the drought and the lack of water revenues entering the country during the summer season," Undersecretary Mahdi al-Qaisi told Anatolia.
"The damage will be reflected negatively on the agricultural plan for the winter season, which the ministry is still working on preparing."
"Damage in the summer season will reduce the cultivated area during the winter plan," he said.
Iraq decided in June to ban the planting of eight crops, including rice, corn and cotton, because of the water crisis.
For years, Iraq has been suffering from a steady decline in water revenues through the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, due to lack of rainfall in the winter season.
Iraq depends on water security mainly on the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers and their tributaries.

Winter plan? I guess snowplows are out of the question.......No snowball fights for them.......They will ban the planting of crops, so I guess that means they will start skinning camels, and pawing through trashheaps-That should really be enticing- Crist, the rogue dogs won't even eat it- Brilliant- They don't think to have water trucked in, do they? Oh, wait a second, that's right-Maliki will have it detoured to his mansions for his own private use-

H.A.A.R.P. and geoengineering of the weather is a wonderful thing for them, isn't it? If it wasn't for that, they'd be building underground mudhuts in Coober Pedi-{ Australia, that is...}-
