Rezan Ahmad  04/08/2018 - 14:54 Iraq

Ninewa police headquarters on Saturday announced the closure of eleven banking shops across the city of Mosul and the arrest of their owners on charges of "laundering money" and smuggling them out of the country.

Maj. Gen. Salem Ghazi told Basnews correspondent that a force of Ninewa police intelligence closed 11 money transfer and smuggling offices abroad for money laundering and smuggling. "Security forces also found handguns and false papers inside these shops."

Ghazi added that «security forces took the accused to the headquarters of the operations of Nineveh to investigate them and bring them to the Iraqi judiciary».
