Iraq releases money to Basra and its demonstrators end their sit-in

Twilight News

Shafaq News / Basra provincial council member Fares Shaddad confirmed on Tuesday that the demonstrators in the province ended their sit-in in front of the provincial council.

Shaddad told Ashqaf News that "hundreds of recruits renewed their demands to oblige the federal government to fulfill the promises made to the demonstrators and not to repudiate their implementation, and then ended their sit-in."

Shaddad denied that "the sit-in had been forcibly removed", revealing that "the Council of Ministers today launched funds worth 97 billion dinars to the province of Basra."

He pointed out that "these amounts represent about 10% of the allocation allocated to the province of Basra."
