On Sunday, demonstrations were launched in several central and southern governorates in Iraq in response to calls by a number of activists and tribal sheikhs to demand better services and job opportunities for the unemployed.
Demonstrations took place in the provinces of Muthanna, Basra and Dhi Qar, where the leaders of the demonstrations called for the start of sit-ins open until the demands of the protesters are met.
The pages of the social networking sites, pictures and videos of the sit-in of a number of demonstrators in front of the building of the province of Basra, while mass demonstrations in Muthanna province to the arena of celebrations to start a sit-in.
This comes with the issuance of Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi, on Sunday, an order to freeze the powers of Minister of Electricity Qassim Fahdawi on the back of deteriorating services, after popular protests entered its third week in the central and southern provinces of Iraq.
"The Prime Minister Haider Abadi orders the withdrawal of the Minister of Electricity on the background of the deterioration of electricity services and until the completion of investigations."
Three weeks ago protesters protested daily the lack of public services, electricity and water cuts and unemployment. Protests have so far resulted in the deaths of 14 demonstrators, as well as the injury and arrest of hundreds in various cities in central and southern Iraq.
