The Iraqi trade attaché in Egypt, Haidar Nuri, said that the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Egypt amounted to one billion and 200 million dollars in 2017, an increase of 200 million dollars from 2016.

Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper quoted Nuri as saying that "the opening of the Tribal port, which passes through Aqaba, will contribute to increasing trade exchange between the two countries to reach 6 billion dollars in the coming years."

He added that "Egyptian exports to Iraq are not counted, and most of them are medicines, vegetables, fruits, ceramics, water pipes, sanitation and electricity supplies, whether generators or transformers."

He added that "Egypt has priority in the reconstruction of Iraq, which needs between 80 to 100 billion dollars for the reconstruction of areas liberated from the organization calling for the terrorist, over the past 10 years, the most important Anbar, Salah al-Din and Mosul."

Nuri pointed out that "Egypt has the potential in the construction of infrastructure, especially in the presence of more than 800 investment opportunities in Iraq and Egypt is one of the most delegations that visited Iraq with more than 25 companies in various fields, including telecommunications, roads, electricity, agriculture and industry."
