(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) The head of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nechirvan Barzani, agreed with a Saudi delegation to visit the region currently on several points on employment opportunities and investment and the strengthening of economic and trade relations between the two sides.

A statement issued by the Presidency of the Kurdistan Regional Government on Tuesday that "the two sides discussed the employment opportunities and investment and strengthen economic and trade relations in all areas in the Kurdistan region."

"The two sides agreed that the Kurdistan Region, as a first step, should take a position to start commercial, economic, labor and investment activities throughout Iraq," he said.

Barzani expressed his support for the Kurdistan Regional Government and the provision of facilities to invest and operate Saudi capital in the Kurdistan Region and to promote and develop economic and trade relations between Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and Saudi Arabia, hoping that the near future will see practical steps to develop these relations.

A delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, currently in the region, includes Sami bin Abdullah Al Obeidi, President of the Chambers of Commerce in Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz Al Shammari, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Iraq, Mansour Faisal Al Otaibi, Saudi Consul General in Kurdistan Region, Saudi Arabia.
