A report reveals the motives of Israeli shelling of Iraq's borders and sharp messages to Baghdad

The Swiss newspaper "Tsurischer Zeitung" published a report on Israel's air strikes in eastern Syria on Sunday aimed at stopping the flow of Iranian military aid across the Iraqi border.

The raids are part of a "show of force" that carries a warning to the pro-Iranian prime minister. According to the report.

The newspaper said in its report that doubts were initially hovering around the US forces, before denying a US official on the network "CNN" involvement in this attack and pointing a finger at Israel.
The attack, which was carried out by Israeli forces on Monday night, killed at least 52 people, including at least 30 Iraqis.

The newspaper pointed out that this attack was a "show of strength" for Israel, which will not hesitate to launch further attacks in the future.
These attacks are not the first of its kind. Israel has previously attacked 12 aircraft sites belonging to the Syrian and Iranian forces after the Syrian units dropped an Israeli fighter.

An Israeli officer revealed that they launched an attack in mid-April using F-15 aircraft that killed 14 people, followed by another attack in mid-May that destroyed Iranian infrastructure.

The newspaper reported that the Syrian media, initially, published the news of the attack as a US attack carried out by coalition aircraft.
The attack was an attempt to stop the supply of Iranian military equipment across the Iraqi-Syrian border, where Israel wants to cut off the Iranian route to the sea.

The newspaper pointed out that such raids represent a threat and a warning to the Iraqis. The Israeli Prime Minister said that the Iranian military presence in Syria can not be accepted;

Through these raids, Israel showed its military and technical strength, demonstrating its ability to strike and target Iran.

It should be noted that the United States and Russia were aware of Israel's intention to carry out this attack, Netanyahu has already spoken with the US Secretary of State and the Russian President over the weekend on this matter.

Military experts agree that the Israeli attack targets not only Hezbollah or the Iranian militia, but also Hezbollah battalions, the Shiite militia backed by Tehran.

The IRGC trains and supports several militias known as the Popular Mobilization Units, and ensures that they are based in Syria. Its total strength is estimated at 80,000 to 100,000.

It is worth noting that the head of Hezbollah units, Aba Mahdi al-Muhandis, is also the commander of the mobilization units and has good relations with the commander of the Quds Force, General Qassem Soleimani.

The Hezbollah battalions were fighting the state organization in the first place, yet the Iraqi Supreme Command did not agree with it.
The newspaper said that the goal sought by Israel this time is to alert the Iraqis that their support can not always be tolerated to Iran, and Baghdad's recent reaction can be seen as evidence of the arrival of the message.

To date, Baghdad still supports the Hezbollah battalions in defiance of Israel's warnings.

In October of 2017, the German foreign minister called on all militias in Syria to "return home," while Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi hailed her efforts as "the hope of Iraq and the region as a whole."
In the end, the newspaper confirmed that the words of Haider Abadi, a clear provocation to the West and implicit praise of Iran. For its part, Israel responded with its own words by launching these air strikes on Sunday.
