Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari said on Saturday that Iran is "the true brothers of Iraq."
"When people depend on their internal capabilities, no enemy can stand in their face," Jaafari said during a meeting with Khamenei's international affairs adviser Ali Akbar Velayati.
"In the context of a defiant struggle, it was clear to all that the Iranian people and the Iranian government were our true brothers," he said.
"Iran has played an important role in supporting the strategic and moral resistance in the region," he said.
