A new bloc, its withdrawal from the electoral alliance of Abadi, announced Wednesday (January 17th), justified its withdrawal by indirect accusations of coalition components of corruption and sectarianism.

The Bayrak al-Khair bloc, headed by former Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi, announced today its withdrawal from the alliance led by current Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.

"We decided a few days ago to withdraw from the alliance of victory because of the large number of parties that belong to it, which do not share with us, with the aim of ending quotas, sectarianism and corruption," said the leader of Bayrak al-Khair, Mazen al-Ishaqir, in a leaflet on his social networking site Facebook. .

Al-Ashqir revealed that they decided to "run in the elections as a party of good good, under the leadership of Dr. Khalid al-Obeidi in all provinces to have a clear choice and free from the depositions of the parties of the Authority by attracting qualified candidates and professionals and patriots and impartial throughout Iraq."

From the very first moment of his announcement, many criticisms were voiced against the Abadi electoral alliance, because of the partnership he had established with the popular militia, and some of the forces known for their sectarian leanings.

The Abadi coalition has been subjected to a series of withdrawals over the past few hours, most notably the withdrawal of the Fatah coalition.

Several political forces have expressed their disappointment over the alliance between Abadi and the "crowd" and the wise. Sharaouq Abayji, a member of the Iraqi parliament for the civil democratic movement, told Asharq Al Awsat that "an alliance with a clear sectarian character is a clear disappointment to the Iraqi street." The Iraqi people were waiting for alliances that were already transient to sectarianism and sectarianism They are furnished with personalities of this or that component as transient. "
