BAGHDAD ( Reuters ) - Iraqi
President Fuad Masum said on Monday that Iraq alone is "unable" to provide the $ 100 billion reconstruction of the affected areas, adding that the amount is "large" and depends on countries' grants and their ability to pay.

Masum said in a press conference with Kuwait , in response to a reporter 's question Alsumaria News whether Kuwait agreed with the World Bank and other countries to provide the necessary amount for the reconstruction of the affected areas, which is estimated at 100 billion dollars, " The amount is large and this depends on the granting of states and the extent of their ability to pay "He said.

He went on to say that "Iraq alone is unable to provide this large amount," continuing, "We so far can not announce the details of the donor conference."

On Wednesday (November 1, 2017), the World Bank agreed to grant $ 400 million in financial aid to Iraq's reconstruction after the liberation of several cities from the Da'ash organization.
