Taha called on the government to "open an investigation on the presence of these and their families in these areas and to find a solution to this problem, which is almost a knife in the vicinity of Kirkuk," and called on Prime Minister Haider Abadi and government officials not to deal with Kirkuk by using the policy of arms, Kurdish citizens in Kirkuk more reassurances as some of those who left the city on 16/10/2017 are not back now. "

On Monday (October 16, 2017), Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi directed the security forces to impose security in the province of Kirkuk and the disputed areas. The forces took control of Kirkuk city and its government institutions after the withdrawal of the Peshmerga forces from the province.
