The people of Kurdistan want peace, and prosperity... The situation is set up for this to occur... Regardless of the referendum's outcome, there will be a united Iraq... Barzani understands this... The relationship with Abadi is good, and with all of the entities holding Baghdad accountable, IMHO, this is all smoke, and mirrors... Investment has continued within this country, and confidence is high... Except how it is portrayed within the media...  I believe that at some point in the future the Kurds will be independent... But at this point in time, it will not be... There are valid reasons for this... The plan is for economic prosperity not only for Iraq, but for the world at large as well...

There will not be a united Iraq.  The relationship with Abadi is awful.  The referendum will pass.  It doesn't automatically mean they will secede.  Baghdad has absolutely screwed Kurdistan 6 ways from Sunday - they owe them hundreds of billions of dollars in oil revenue.  Baghdad owes them billions in civil service and austerity payments/pensions and Peshmergha salaries.  Close to 2M refugees from both Iraq and Syria have flooded Kurdistan, and Baghdad has done nothing to give relief.  Kurdistan could leave Iraq tomorrow and be 100% self-sustaining.  So, uh, you might wanna get your actual facts straight...

Yes I agree, Kurdistan has always come to Baghdad's aid and every agreement it seems Baghdad defaults their promises and agreements to Kurdistan. But again they have been fighting among themselves for centuries . Other countries such as Turkey and Iran and the US needs to let them settle there differences among est themselves.
