Ministry of Defense announced in the South Korean troops in cooperation with US forces began on Wednesday the deployment of advanced missile system equipment [THAAD] in the town [Songjo] southeast of the capital Seoul.

The defense said in a statement, "We are working with the United States to complete the deployment of missile system [THAAD] defense in Seoul as soon as possible."

And he confirmed the work for the completion of the processing capacity of the rocket system fully operational at the end of this year.

The ministry said that the deployment of the system is a key in order to protect the South Korean people and the Allied forces to counter possible threats from North Korea under the North's nuclear tests and ballistic missiles launched recently.

He added that the North's nuclear program represents a serious threat to the security of the United States of America.

For his part, spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Gung Chuang told a news conference his country's concern over the deployment system [THAAD] in South Korea, saying it "would destroy the strategic balance and incites to increase tensions."
