Abadi: Saudi Arabia is interested in investing in Iraq

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al - Abadi receives Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al - Jubeir
Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said that Saudi Arabia expressed their willingness to invest in his country, stressing Baghdad sought to build relations with Riyadh on the basis of common interests.
Ebadi said at a news conference in Wasit province, Tuesday, March 28 / March, that "Iraq is strong with his people, unity and seeks to bridge the gap between the countries of the region," adding that "Iraq has become an important role now, and the world counted his account."
"The Saudi side expressed its readiness to invest in Iraq."
It is interesting that the Abadi's remarks came after the first visit by the Saudi foreign minister to Iraq in 14 years. The Saudi minister Adel al-Jubeir had met during his visit to Baghdad last Saturday with Prime Minister al-Abadi and Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari.
Jubair said during the visit that his country "is looking forward to building a special relationship with Iraq, and there is a common desire to work together in the war against terrorism." He added that his visit came to restore bilateral relations back on track, stressing that his country supports the unity and stability of Iraq.
This was quoted by Reuters news agency, an official at the Iraqi Foreign Ministry as saying that al-Jubeir told officials at the Iraqi Foreign Ministry that his country would consider the appointment of a new ambassador to Baghdad.
It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia has reopened its embassy in Baghdad in 2015, and appointed Thamir Sabhan ambassador, after nearly a quarter century of closure after Baghdad's troops invaded Kuwait in 1990.
Saudi Arabia has replaced its ambassador in Baghdad Bakaim business after months of demanding the Iraqi Foreign Ministry so, after he made statements about what he called the "Iranian meddling in Iraqi affairs and the persecution of the year."
