CBI Message On Website

I just tried to get to the CBI website and this is the message I got from the url: http://www.cbi.iq/ :shock:

It automatically went to this url: http://www.cbi.iq/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi

The website maybe down but here is the info from CBI about the Dinar rate before the site went down.

Seema I remember someone saying the site is going to shift to an all new website after or at the same time as the RV. Is it Alzheimers or is it Memorex?

millions of people going to this site isn't going to make it RV
any faster, its the bank screens that is going to the the true out come
I never go there why irritate them anymore.

Yeah, Delta was pretty confident that would happen .... from his CBI contact. I have never seen the CBI site completely down like this since then. Delta said you would see it down for hours then up with the new site and rate !

Yes the website did work for me. As soon as I refreshed, I got this message:

Bandwidth Limit Exceeded

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later.
Apache/2.2.17 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.17 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at www.cbi.iq Port 80

Clearly they are going through some bandwidth related hosting problems. Nothing solid says it has to do with the RV.

Bandwidth limitations are usually on a monthly basis. Its only the 5th of the month. Sure, lots of traffic, but CBI has had this kind of attention for the last 3 months. Why now ?

Also, why would somebody get a message like that posted earlier in this thread ... "account suspended," type stuff. That clearly is not bandwidth related.

This is what I got just now @ www.cbi.iq while using Google Chrome:

This webpage is not available
The connection to www.cbi.iq was interrupted.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this webpage later.

This is what I got just now @ www.cbi.iq while using Firefox:

Oh good point. So they are claiming an auction went down yesterday ... before the site
went down. OK, so I guess they like working at CBI during a major national Holiday ?

Sunday September 4 2011 was not a holiday in Iraq. I posted the link. Check it out and let me know if you think I made it up or something. I found it on the CBI website which we have all used as a reference.

Also all 4 of your posts have been on this thread, you appear to be new. The CBI.IQ is the CBI's website. It may change, but for now it is the website

CBI is up but still not changed for 6 days I went to the forex and noticed that I can not goto the Tokyo exchange site. I am not sure if this means anything at all but just wanted to state it.

OK, sounds good. Thought the Eid al-Fitr end of Ramadan holiday ran through Sunday.

Well, if people are truly able to get on at times, even sometimes, then the site is not truly down.
The "account suspended" message is a little odd though.

i have been in the middle east for 8 years as a contractor in iraq ,kuwait egypt and afghan , i follow updates regurlarly and i have never seen CBI have so many problems , and be down so long , i was in kuwait when doha bank rv iqd for 24 hrs at .35 this is real.................just hang in there its coming

It could just an anomaly or it could be that the website was underpowered and they are upgrading prior to the RV. The old website was pretty lame and was easily overpowered with the Dinarians world-wide hitting it every few minutes to see if they can go buy that Russian Bride yet but alas, we will all know soon enough. Maybe they will even install a decent translator utility.

Whoa there! An expert on the website, No. I just visit it and read it. This is the site that Okie, Poppy, and Tony refer to as the CBI website. Notice I put the words "according to the CBI site." I did so keeping your kind of posts in mind.

I am a webmaster and I know bandwidth problems when I see them. The site has more than just bandwidth problems though because if that were the case, then the server could be reset in a matter of minutes. This is a government website. It is important. They have IT people on standby always.

I say they are rebuilding it or replacing the servers because it wouldn't take this many hours. IMHO

P.S. - I love you, Okie, the Easter Bunny, Santa Clause, and Jesus so don't come at me with your vitriol and lack of comprehension. <;-D

Thanks for the input. At one point on the roller coaster ride, the website was down for 14 days.

Well then you must have missed when the cbi website went offline for 14 days straight. Or when they didnt update for several days worth of auctions a few years back.

Since you were in kuwait when it "rv'd" can you show us some links on that? I have never seen any rate change on the public markets, only the street value changed when the banks closed with the invasion. Thanks in advance for any help!
