Well for starters because the value of a country's currency is not predicated upon the value of it's resources. They can, at least to a degree, make their currency worth whatever they want, INSIDE their country, but that does not mean other countries will go along with that. Will it really be worth $3.21? We will see, but given that there are over 883T in circulation and it's current worth is 0.000033/USD, I doubt it.

OH and the word is parity, parody is a literary or artistic work that uses imitation, as of the characteristic style of an author or a work, for comic effect or ridicule.
