I think it's two people maybe, doesn't matter, it's all BS anyway. BTW, I have never been able to find any reference to Tier 1, 2, or 3 banks. Capital the banks hold, yes, but not banks.

Tier I capital is core capital, this includes equity capital and disclosed reserves. Tier 2 capital is supplementary bank capital that includes items such as revaluation reserves, undisclosed reserves, hybrid instruments and subordinated term debt

There is no Tier 3

Maybe they mean Tiers as in the different things the banks can do? I know there is a Chase grocery store bank near me that can pretty much do deposits/withdrawls and open/close accounts. Beyond that the stand alone branch is where you need to go.

But I agree the bank "brand" has nothing to do with tier...it's just more nonsense to make things seem more believable...

As near as I can tell the term tier is not used that way in the banking industry. Besides, they use it in a "brand" way, i.e. WF is a tier 1 bank, Chase is a tier 2 bank ... etc.
