Great. Another sovereign nation that this president sees fit to send military hardware to. Being the Nobel Laureate for Peace and all.
How many countries does this make now?

Yep. Nobel Peace Prize and O together might be referred to as an oxymoron!

Well if he is targeting those mongrels who call themselves IS, I am all for it ... they are not a sovereign nation, just a pack of rabid dogs, and there is only one way to handle rabid animals ....

Re: breaking news
Kevin, you are right. I have no problem with the target and with anybody who hides them. I just felt when he received the Nobel Prize it was very undeserving and made a mockery of the prize. He did not "create" peace, he just removed the peace keepers.

Re: breaking news
That particular Nobel Prize was purely political ... other than getting elected, he hadn't done a damn thing yet when he was nominated ... He still has not done a thing worthy of a Nobel prize, but I was replying specifically to the person I quoted.

Don't get me wrong guys... I am no fan of ISIS/IS/ISIL at all
The destruction of this phenomena does not cause me the slightest impact to my well being or sleep at all. They are animals who have found a way to establish themselves more securely in terms of land, money, and hostages than any other. They need to be eradicated.
I just have three issues the way that this is playing out.
1) We blew it with our assessments on their will to win and further failed to check their rise when it would have been possible to have a more positive outcome.
2) This is being done as a politically correct looking event where the US and Arab nations (mostly Shia attacking Sunni extremists. That's not going to play well in the local media) are selectively targeting things on a feel good basis to be seen as 'doing something.'
3) We actually targeted another group in the attacks, one which hasn't been talked about or identified in the justifications. The Khorasans. It wasn't just ISIS on the target list last night. Sure, ISIS is bad and should be eradicated. But what of the Khorasans? Should we be picking yet another fight with another group? They are probably bad and probably should be eradicated as well, but shouldn't they have been a part of the discussion?
BTW, IS took another 60 towns and villages in Iraq over the past week despite our heroic and 'effective' bombing. It would seem that we should be learning the lesson that one cannot hold and control territory with airplanes.
Moreover, the willful blindness of some who think the RV is near amazes me. How would it make sense with all of the instability/stolen funds, that the RV would be now? Especially considering how much IS would benefit from the RV?

Re: breaking news
Well I never iad it was being done right, in fact, I fear the hands of our military are too tightly tied by the military in the name of political expediency. My worry is that we are starting down the same path we went down in SE Asia in the late 50's, and that is not a path we should have gone down then or now. At the same time, we are dealing with animals who hate our way of life, in fact hate any way of life that is not strictly conformed to their own warped sense of right. As far as the Khorasan, they have declared war upon the west and evidence revealed thus far shows they were ready to attack them ourselves. Sorry, but if someone is threatening to take me out and has the means to do so, I'm not going to wait around to see if they're really going to do it.

Re: breaking news
Seems like I read earlier that we did go it alone and hit the Khorasan yesterday. If I'm able, I'll try to find the article later.

Re: breaking news
Yes, we hit the Khorasan unilaterally, the other strikes were joint. BTW, it's an organization, an offshoot of Al-Qaeda, not a place. We hit them hard, but then again, they were planning to hit us.
