Hi everyone just stopped by to drop some news!
150 + International Legal Experts: Say Israel Is Targeting Civilians and Inflicting Collective Punishment
The United Nations, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch all say that Israel has committed war crimes by targeting civilians.
Israel’s collective punishment of Palestinians is also a war crime.
Over 150 international legal experts – including two Former UN Special Rapporteurs on human rights situation in Palestine – have also signed a declaration stating:

 • Israel has targeted civilians

 • Israel has inflicted collective punishment on the Palestinians

 • These are war crimes

 • The matter should be referred to the International Criminal Court (ICC)

Indeed,  a French lawyer filed a complaint with the ICC on July 25, 2014 on behalf of the Palestinian justice minister.  The complaint alleges that Israel committed war crimes – citing Israel’s military occupation of Palestinian territories, Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip and the ongoing military operations there.
Numerous prominent British legal experts have also requested that the ICC investigate Israeli war crimes in Gaza, stating:
Quote :
Reports produced by non-governmental organisations following preliminary investigations strongly suggest that crimes within the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court have been and are being committed. Supporting information is appended to this letter. Additional information, including from “States, organs of the United Nations, intergovernmental or non- governmental organizations [and] other reliable sources” (article 15(2)) is readily and widely available. Eye witness accounts have been documented, and “written or oral testimony” can be provided by victims and others (article 15(2)). There can be no doubt as to the “seriousness  of the information” available (article 15(2)).
The United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon, has called for “accountability and  justice”. That call has been echoed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, who has underscored the need for “real accountability considering the increasing evidence of war crimes”.
***
All the requirements for the initiation of an investigation pursuant to article 15 are clearly made out. The “information available to the prosecutor provides”, at the very least, “a  reasonable basis to believe that… crime[s] within the jurisdiction of the Court ha[ve] been or [are] being committed” (article 53(1)(a)).
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is worried … as shown by the fact that he has asked the U.S. for help in avoiding war crime charges.
Postscript: The ICC has said that it does not have jurisdiction over Israeli war crimes in Gaza, because the Palestinians have not yet accepted the ICC’s jurisdiction (perhaps because they are worried that Hamas has also committed war crimes).  However, Palestinian leaders now appear ready to submit to ICC jurisdiction

Horse hockey ... these clowns are so biased it is ridiculous. You want facts? How about the fact that the Palestinian combatants are deliberately mixing with civilian populations a -- war crime. They are deliberately targeting civilian populations -- a war crime. They dress their combatants in civilian outfits -- a war crime. The site their facilities in or adjacent to schools, hospitals, apartment buildings etc. Yep you guessed it --a war crime. They have dug dozens of tunnels the only purpose of which was to facilitate attacks against civilian targets -- had they been able to use them -- yea more war crimes. Yet the so called experts just ignore that.

Oh let us not forget the diversion of civilian relief funds to military use at the expense of their civilian population. Not sure if that's a war crime or not, but in my mind it's a crime against humanity. Oh and that incident a couple weeks ago where something like 40 people where killed and injured when Israel supposedly bombed a school being used as a shelter? Well it turns out it was a Hamas rocket that went off course. There is radar AND photographic evidence, but the lame stream media never saw fit to cover that part of the incident.

Israel on the other hand have warned civilians with phone calls, text messages, leaflets and "roof knockers" before a strike. They have taken every step they can to avoid civilian casualties, while Hamas has take every step they can to cause civilian casualties, both in Israel and to their own people. So who are the war criminals?

Gaza war’s price tag: $2.5 billion

Now we know how much Israel’s war in Gaza cost — and it’s even more than we expected.
Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon revealed Tuesday that the total military cost of Israel’s 50-day war in Gaza this summer amounted to $2.5 billion. That number doesn’t include an estimated $1.3 billion hit to Israel’s GDP due to the war, according to an estimate JTA got from a senior official.
The $2.5 billion bill is higher than even the most liberal estimates Israeli media made in early August, about two weeks before the fighting ended. During the war, Yaalon said, Israel hit 6,000 targets — 5,000 of them from the air. The Iron Dome missile defense system also shot down 600 missiles fired from Gaza.
Yaalon’s announcement comes on the heels of a major budget cut to pay for the war. Every government ministry sustained a 2 percent cut in its 2014 budget to transfer more than $400 million to the Defense Ministry to pay for the war. The hardest hit was the Education Ministry, which lost nearly $200 million.
Finance Minister Yair Lapid said most of the total $2.5 billion would come from the 2014 budget, but the war’s cost has prompted a public debate between Lapid and Karnit Flug, governor of the Bank of Israel, over how to pay for the rest. Lapid wants to increase Israel’s budget deficit rather than raise taxes or further cut spending next year.
“The last thing the Israeli economy needs is more taxes and more cuts,” Lapid said in a speech Tuesday. “The experience of the international community from the past years proves that austerity budgets do not help. Austerity budgets choke off growth, hold back entrepreneurship and create an atmosphere of no hope.
Flug said, according to Bloomberg News, that an increased deficit would “serve as a clear signal of a retreat from a commitment to fiscal discipline, and will increase the risk of loss of credibility.”

A group of Holocaust survivors and descendants of those targeted by Nazi Germany have harshly criticized Israeli actions in Gaza and called for boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel.
Following a letter from survivors of the Holocaust printed in the New York Times on Saturday, the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, which helped coordinate the letter, organized a press call Monday, where some of those who signed the letter spoke out against the assault on Gaza.
Participants in the press call included Edith Bell, whose parents died in concentration camps and who was taken to four camps herself; Suzanne Weiss, whose mother was murdered in Auschwitz and who was hidden by French peasants; and Liliane Kaczerginski, whose father Schmerke was a Jewish fighter against the Nazis in Lithuania. Also joining the call were Monadel Herzallah and Hani Jamah, two Palestinians with family in Gaza who expressed appreciation at the descendants’ and survivors’ efforts.
40 survivors of the Holocaust signed the letter and 287 descendants of victims also added their names.
“I resent anybody who will use those events as an excuse to exterminate Palestinians,” said Bell, who said she survived concentration camps by “pure luck.”
The letter printed in the New York Times has garnered international media attention from the likes of the BBC and Ha’aretz. “As Jewish survivors and descendants of survivors and victims of the Nazi genocide we unequivocally condemn the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza and the ongoing occupation and colonization of historic Palestine,” the letter says. “We call for an immediate end to the siege against and blockade of Gaza. We call for the full economic, cultural and academic boycott of Israel. ‘Never again’ must mean NEVER AGAIN FOR ANYONE!”
The advertisement cost $18,000. The funds were raised by some of the signatories.
“I applaud your courage for doing such a statement like that, that speaks from the heart,” said Herzallah, a member of the US Palestinian Community Network whose family was expelled from what is now Israel into Gaza. “I’m not surprised when I see these courageous statements by Holocaust survivors and their families…Our children and grandchildren will learn together in Gaza and all over Palestine that never again truly means never again for anyone.
The impetus for the letter came from Holocaust survivors and descendants of victims of the Nazis who were outraged that Israel used their histories to justify assaults on Palestinians. One of the signatories who helped organize the letter was Dr. Hajo Meyer, a German-Dutch physicist who survived Auschwitz and who died the day before the letter was printed in the Times. Meyer was an outspoken critic of Israel, telling the Electronic Intifada that he “had to quit grammar school in Bielefeld after the Kristallnacht…Therefore, I can fully identify with the Palestinian youth that are hampered in their education. And I can in no way identify with the criminals who make it impossible for Palestinian youth to be educated.”
The letter calls out Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, who was the author of another advertisement that ran in the New York Times calling on Hamas to reject “child sacrifice” and casting the Israel/Palestine conflict as a “battle of civilization against barbarism.”
“Reading the Elie Wiesel ad made me literally sick to my stomach,” said Maia Ettinger, whose mother and grandmother survived the Holocaust by escaping the Warsaw ghetto. “The ad is an act of towering and transparent projection because what is barbaric is collective punishment, and what is barbaric is indiscriminate bombing.”
The International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network says that much of the response they have received has been positive, though there have been violent messages sent to their e-mail address. +972 Magazine’s Ami Kaufman reported that some Israelis have expressed revulsion at the letter on Facebook.
“It’s a shame Hitler didn’t finish the job,” one Israeli named Asher Solomon said, while another, Katy Morali, added that “Holocaust survivors who think like this are invited to go die in the gas chambers.”
Correction: This article originally reported 47 Holocaust survivors had signed the letter. The actual number is 40.

Of course that assumes that Israel wants to exterminate Palestinians.  I believe all they want is for Hezbollah to quit bombing them and to destroy the tunnels they have built.

Well NelsonNancy obviously is not on the side of Israel. At best she has bought the Palestinian propaganda hook, line and sinker, at worst ....

I was reading yesterday that Israel has a unit in their army who's sole job is to investigate such claims and either verify them or prove them false, but every claim is investigated. It is very clear to any unbiased person looking beyond the biased MSM reporting that Israel went above and beyond the call in minimizing civilian casualties. In addition, by the UN's own accounting, at least half of the so called casualties are just that, so called civilians who were in reality combatants.

I already addressed the question of Palestinian war crimes above.

My question is what do you say about the jewish people against this war or conflict? That they are leftists? That they are self-hating jews? What about the children that died in this conflict? Compare the casualties from Palestinians to the Jewish population. Did they deserve this too? I cannot sit here and say that this was done for a greater good of any nation. I served my country. And I served my country for the wrong reasons. I've seen war. I've seen too many people die for stupid and petty differences. This one is for a land that both can share if they really put forth an effort. Both sides have a deeper agenda (Religious?, Financial?). I don't know what it is but I will find out. I'm not on the side of people who kill for their own personal agendas. I'm on neither side. But if we tally up the bodycount comparing Israel's advanced military weaponry and economic abilities to what ever these Palestinians have, we will see a big difference. I have seen war enough to know that we use good intentions and justifications to promote our violence and to display "Progress." I have many Jewish friends that do not condone these actions from Israel. So what say you? That the Jewish people that disapproves the actions of their government are wrong?

Former Israeli dancer Miri Shahaf-Levi and former ballroom dancing world champion Pierre Dulaine come together to unite Israeli and Palestinian children to dance in the name of peace, to show them that they are not enemies.

The program “turns suspicions into friendships,” and also lead to an award-winning documentary calledDancing In Jaffa

Music and dance have the power to overcome cultural boundaries, and hopefully build friendships that will eventually lead to peace.

It takes two to tango. It takes two to make peace.

Beautiful Movie. This is my message. Link is below if anyone is interested.
