Some of you know my Golden passed away last summer. I have a new little pup. He's 6 months old. A Japanese Spitz. He looks something like this.

I have a Finnish Spitz - He looked just like that when he was a puppy !  Except reddish tan.   Alas, he is now suffering doggie dementia and several other health issues of the aged dog.

Are you sure a Finnish Spitz isn't a guy at the end of a pool?

Yes people think they look like Samoyed when they are young. They can also look like the American Eskimo which they are not. The American Eskimo comes in 3 sizes and were breed entirely different with very different temperaments. The JS has a much milder and sweet temperament.  They love children, are truly a companion dog and love to guard their pack.

This is what they look like when they are older. The one on the left is actually his great great grandpa. A small boy just like my little Niko.  Mine was neutered this week. No children for him.  say what?

Love the Sammie's but too much grooming maintenance for me.  Met one once and he was so smart and so cuddly. This one will be he's just in puppy stage and and wants to experiment with everything using his mouth.

Kiko is a great name.

My Golden was 6 weeks short of his 12th birthday.  I kept him on for a few months. I couldn't bring myself to do it. One day I asked him if it was time. He looked me in the eyes to tell me he couldn't stay anymore. There is no right time for you Ponee. Nobody can tell you what to do. It's between you and him and you will know when it's time.  My heart aches for you because I know how you feel.

Sending you many hugs.

I agree putting a loved one (pet) to sleep has to be one of the hardest things to do. Been through it many times and it never gets easy and yet we still find it in our hearts to find another. Ponee you will know when it's time. Be strong.
