Coinbase, easy way for newbies to buy Bitcoins

Post by livingintheloop69 on Mon Dec 09, 2013 5:40 pm

Just wanted to share my experience as a newbie to bitcoins. I didn't buy alot just a few hundred bucks. I was kind of overwhelmed by the whole concept of bitcoisn and how do I hold something which is intangible. I finally wrapped my head around the whole thing and then looked to buy. Bitlocal or localbitcoins.com looked nice but coinbase you can buy direct from your bankaccount, only downside takes about a week to get your coins.

I have heard from several people, that we are almost too late in getting into bit coins... that the market is about to bust.  What are your thoughts on this LITHL69?

i think bitcoins are still in their infancy. yeah among tech people bitcoins are nothing new but its only been in the past month or so they've realy been in the media nad become common knowledge even thoug hmost people still dont know about or fully understand bitcoins.

yeah bitcoins are kind of a bubble right now. i mean thats crazy going from $129 to over $1200 in a year. even in the past week or two it went from like $800 to $1200 and then back down to under $600.

bitcoin mining is dead. i dont fully understand the concept of mining but i guess as time goes on and bitcoins are discovered it gets more complicated to mine. i hear people saying even really smart computer guys with great graphics cards cant mine alone and have to join pools of other people to cooperate with to have any success. i guess you can still mine some of the less popular coins like feathercoins.

i dont think its too late. i think the general public is just starting to get into them and they are becomming much more widely accepted at stores as well as accepted by countries and governments as being something big or worth paying attention to.

if you want to buy i would buy on a dip like when we recently went from $1200 to $600. I'd also recommend once you get bitcoins going to an exchange and swapping bitcoins for litecoins or feathercoins or something which is currently less popular but may get a bump in popularity and price.
