Interesting Phone Call
So... just got off the phone with my friend that is connected to the senator.
He was very happy about the Citi bank thing.
He also told me that his contact told him that this is how he sees it going down...
If it rv's at 5.85 lets say... you would take the amount of dinar you hold and divide that number into your amount. Then take that amount and divide by 50% (taxes) and that will be your net of exchange.
Comments???

Re: Interesting Phone Call
Well they take 40% from my check every week so this does not seem out of line. I always figured 50% anyway so that was not a surprise. I had never heard the divide thingy before though. Thought it interesting. Totally different pov that I had ever heard.

Re: Interesting Phone Call
Could be right, I have never bought into the that currency exchange = zero tax crap the guru's have been tossing out ... or is it throwing up? Might be more appropriate ... anyway, yea if it is counted as capital gains, which makes the most sense to this non tax practitioner. Here is a table I found explaining the capital gains tax rates for 2013. It's a little complicated, and I'm not 100% clear on how this all works, but I think if it is capital gains it does not count as income, IF that is correct, then depending on where your marginal tax rate falls you MIGHT pay 0%.
Here is an explanation I found ...
Investment Securities
The 0% Rate
Who's Eligible: Individuals in the 10% and 15% federal income tax brackets with net long-term capital gains from selling investment securities held for more than one year.
More people than you might think qualify for the 0% rate. Why? Because the 15% bracket covers 2013 taxable income of up to $36,250 for singles, $72,500 for joint filers, $48,600 for heads of households, and $36,250 for married individuals who file separately. Here's how this rule works in real life. Say you're a joint filer and have $63,500 of "regular" taxable income in 2013 and a net long-term gain of $10,000 from stock sales. The first $9,000 of gain ($72,500 - $63,500) will be taxed at 0%. The remaining $1,000 ($10,000-$9,000) will get taxed at the 15% rate you hear so much about. Now let's say your net long-term gain is $9,000 or less. In this case, you'll pay 0% on the entire gain. You get the idea.
The 15% Rate
Who's Eligible: Individuals in the 25% federal income tax bracket or higher with net long-term capital gains from selling investment securities held for more than one year.
The 20% Rate
Who's Eligible: Everyone, including billionaires. This rate only applies if your taxable income is above $400,000.
The numbers are a little out of date, but I think the concept still works.
January 1, 2013 - | |||||||||
If Seller Had Owned the Asset for | and | Seller’s Marginal Income Tax Rate the Year of Sale Is
10% | 15% | 25% | 28% | 33% | 35% | 39.6%
then | the Tax Rate on the Capital Gain Is
Less Than 1 Year | 10% (a) | 15% (a) | 25% (a) | 28% (a) | 33% (a) | 38.8% | 43.4%
1 Year or More | 0% (a) | 0% (a) | 15% (a) | 15% (a) | 15% (a) | 18.8% | 23.8%
Note: The rate remains 28 percent for long-term gains from sales of art works and other collectibles. (a) The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, starting in 2013, imposes an additional 3.8 percent surtax on the lesser of : -net investment income, -the excess of the taxpayer's modified AGI over $200,000 (single filers) or $250,000 (joint filers.) This threshold is based on adjusted gross income, rather than, as with the above rates, taxable income, so it's conceivable that taxpayers in the lower marginal tax brackets could still be subject to the surtax if their AGI is over the threshold but they have lots of itemized deductions. If a taxpayer is in the 35 percent or 39.6 percent bracket, he or she will be definitely subject to the surtax, so it is included in the rate shown for those brackets. |

Re: Interesting Phone Call
Exactly, I'm not sure how it effects your AGI. From the examples I saw it seems as if it is counted as part of your AGI. I think that is for calculation of the Capital Gains only? If so then part would have a zero rate, with each portion under a given bracket taxed at the appropriate rate up to a max of (long term) 23.8 percent. So your taxes would be whatever your marginal rate is for earned income, plus the sum of the amounts under the capital gains calculations????

I think the 16th Amendment might just prove you wrong. I know, I know, the 16th Amendment was supposedly never legally ratified. Well that's already been tested in court, and lost, so good luck proving it.

Re: Interesting Phone Call
The 16th amendment authorized congress to collect income taxes:
Amendment XVI
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
As to law, it is far, far to much to post here, but specifically 26 USC ... Title 26 › Subtitle A › Chapter 1 › Subchapter A › Part I › § 1 Tax Imposed states:
a) Married individuals filing joint returns and surviving spouses
There is hereby imposed on the taxable income of—
(1) every married individual (as defined in section 7703) who makes a single return jointly with his spouse under section 6013, and
(2) every surviving spouse (as defined in section 2 (a)),
a tax determined in accordance with the following table: ...
26 USC is the internal revenue code, Subtitle A deals specifically with income taxes.
From the Legal Information Institute at the Cornell School of Law:
http://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/income_tax
BTW if you are researching laws, they are a heck of a lot more user friendly than the government site.

Re: Interesting Phone Call
One of the things that the IRC fails to define is the word "income". What does that really mean? I believe the only official definition given concerning taxes was when congress defined it as corporate profit.. Another odd thing, all forms for the collection of information from the general public must be published in the Federal Register. Care to guess what form has never been published there?

Re: Interesting Phone Call
I think he got to the 5.85 number by taking the amount the dinar was worth before 2001 and then added the 2.5 to it. But it did match some of the dinar stuff I read also.
Well I guess we sit tight and see how things go in the next few days.
I may hear more from him tonight and if I do I will post it.

kkeen... I am not sure I understand any of this but I was just relaying what I was told. This is from my conversation with the gent that has family connections with a senator.
I will say this... a person that used to come to this site often, that I respect, has always said... this whole thing will not be what everyone thinks. I always remember those words when I see and hear such info as this divide thing.
But again... this is only what I was told...... who the heck knows....

Re: Interesting Phone Call
Everyone is sooo worried about how much tax(s) are gonna be. Well did you know that you don't have to pay ANY Taxes ?? Who pays Taxes ? answer: a Taxpayer.
Don't want to pay taxes? stop being a 'Taxpayer'. How you say? If you don't have a SS#, you are NOT a taxpayer and CANNOT pay taxes even if you wanted to.
How do you NOT have a SS# ? By declaring 'Constructive Fraud', and No longer using anything with a SS# attached to it (get out of the System, don't take any of the benefits from the System). You are NOT required to have a SS#.
I'm not an attorney or professional anything. This is NOT professional advise, just sharing
some personal insight.
.
If you care to know more, Purpleskyz can help you contact me via email or PM me here.

Re: Interesting Phone Call
Well, it is true that you are not required to have a SSN, it is more than a little difficult to live without one, but it can be done. On the other hand, if you do have one, you can declare any thing you like, but until you get a court to agree, you still have an SSN. I have never seen any evidence that anyone has been successful in getting rid of their SSN. Only way I know to do it is to commit SS fraud and get caught and convicted, then they will kick you out of the system.

Re: Interesting Phone Call
It is a simple thing, but I did NOT say it would be an easy thing to live with... There are many considerations, that may preclude you from wanting to take this route, and that is a decision each would have to make on their own.
Some of the difficulties might be, getting employment, maybe insurance, etc. Personally after the RV and until the Republic is restored in full, getting out of the system is the safest way to protect yourself. Of course you would need some form of ID, a passport is good, and your birth certificate (record of live birth), that's about it for ID.
I suggest having a drivers license and registering your vehicles, just for convenience. Then you are bound to the rules of motor vehicles.
When and if they catch up with you for not paying taxes, you will go to court, but if you fully understand your position and are not connected to anything (currently) with a SS#, they cannot do anything to you. Certainly your mouth and their tricks can get you into big trouble fast, but it can be done, if that's what you wish to do.
Another option would be if you were one of the 'Sovereign American People' (a Foreign State). Or you can remain in the system and give them your money. I prefer not to until they they take my personal direction as to how it is used.
