TIPS FOR USING LOGIC AND COMMON SENSE

After reading the recent numerous posts calling for imminent RV, intelligence reports saying it’s happened, and a host of other claims that have not materialized – a few things seem obvious.

1. You probably don’t want to trust the predictions, make economic decisions, or follow the advice of someone who repeatedly makes inaccurate statements or predictions.
   
2. One definition of insanity is: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
   
3. If you are addicted to the hype of an imminent RV, ask yourself - what need is this satisfying? How is that working for you?
   
4. Review advice, information,” facts” that you have learned from experts and professionals regarding financial matters connected with the RV. Consider the source of the recommended expert/professional. Unless they too are a professional with solid credentials, how much can you rely on their input? Are they qualified to say, who is qualified and why this is good advice?
   
5. Don’t be lazy, don’t be naïve – do your own qualifying and research! Get more than one qualified opinion on important matters, financial or otherwise. Research the credentials and history of the people you get advice from. This is your financial health or well-being that is potentially in play with this investment.
   

Hopefully, you would want second and third opinions from prequalified respected doctors that were recommending a particular procedure. If you have a tendency to believe or act on the advice of a friend or neighbor because it is free or easier, now is the time to change that costly habit.

FACTS to CONSIDER.

1. Every phone call, every email, every text, every electronic communication being made is recorded and stored by government agencies. Regardless of what you think about that, ask yourself this: Do I feel completely safe that all my personal and financial information cannot be hacked or fall into the wrong hands when stored and exchanged by various agencies and nations?
   
2. When you make purchases, receive or send sensitive electronic documents, create accounts, passwords or anything else of this nature, how are you safeguarding your privacy and electronic data? Are you prone to telling strangers about this type of information, without them even asking? Any message sent from your computer supplies directions to your computer, unless you have installed a good safety program for your Internet communications. (see previous blogs or visit my website for some names – and do your own research). You have or will be exchanging information with advisors. What protections do your lawyers, advisers and banks use for their communications and data bases? Everyone knows that credit card companies, businesses and other “safe” databases are broken into, despite their secure storage and safeguards. By using encryption and other safety measures you’re not leaving an electronic trail leading to your home. These are basic common sense preventative measures, no different than locking your car or not posting your name and Social Security number on this blog!
   
3. Does this make you laugh or cringe? Look at all the posts and comments about storing, transporting, safeguarding valuable assets now or once they appreciate. The advice about armored cars, telling no one, post boxes and so forth. Anyone who was commenting was giving out their info unless they had installed a program to insure their computer was anonymous. So for $.75 a day, far less expensive than a cup of coffee, people discuss elaborate or expensive safety measures, while overlooking valuable inexpensive basic precautions.
   

At the risk of stating the obvious, you would do well to question the accuracy and validity of much that passes for solid information on the Internet. The huge and rapid growth of electronic technology, in just the last 10 years alone, has changed how we communicate. In many respects it has made our lives and accessing information much simpler.

For the unwary and unsophisticated the same system has put us at greater risk. For the unscrupulous element, that have always sought to take advantage of people’s trusting nature, the Internet has opened a vast playground to operate in.

There is no need to be fearful, or develop a persecution complex. In the age of instant mass communications it is often wise not to take things at face value. Verify information from qualified credible sources otherwise it is just repeated rumor. There is every reason to be smart, logical, grounded and exercise common sense thorough research.

A FRIEND {DINARIAN} WAS RECENTLY AT A FINANCIAL SERVICES SEMINAR WHERE A LADY NOT KNOWN TO HER BEGAN ASKING QUESTIONS AND RELATING JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING REGARDING OUR COMING BLESSING. Many things said were sound advice and it is always necessary to "prove all things". At the same time we always have to keep in mind that this is a blessing coming from God and he is in ultimate control.
So no matter what the conditions may be, in Iraq and other parts of the world when it is time it will appear. Often God's timing defies logic but it is all part of his master plan for us. Certainly take all the cautions seriously, keep a low profile, get competant advisors and give back generously to the work of spreading the gospel. Remember, you can never out give God.
