Kids Having Fun!
Re: Kids Having Fun!
Aww yes Alleyrose ....when kids used to be really kids! Remember when kids used to play outside and not stay glued to a TV or some kinda electronic device? Kids were better kids then!

Yes they had imagination and they would laugh more. Our youngest absolutely loves being outside working with his dad on weekends and climbing trees etc. We just haven't been able to afford all these flash devices plus he gets motion sickness from them anyway so we have been very lucky! Gee I don't even have an Iphone LOL!!

Re: Kids Having Fun!
Alleyrose I was lucky that my son was an outside person. He had his games, and computer, and would sit and play them for a little while but get bored. I have never seen a kid that would go out and clean the stalls in the barn, and not have to be told to. He loved doing yard work, and anything outside.
By the way, I don't have an IPhone either, and if someone gave me one I would not want it. Everyone I know that has one has problems with theirs. I have a Samsung Android phone and love it. I can do all the things an IPhone can do.

Re: Kids Having Fun!
Give us a dirt pile and we were very happy to build roads, towns, etc. On vacation we would throw rocks in ponds or rivers until we were exhausted. Or skip rocks on the surface of a lake. How about lying in the grass and finding magical shapes in the clouds? Or being outside at night to catch lightning bugs. Or to look at the moon through my brother's telescope. Or we'd troop outside, build a little campfire and roast marshmallows on straightened out wire coathangers. Sometimes Dad or one of the boys would tell ghost stories or we'd sing together. Oh, and after a rainstorm Mom would let us stomp through the gutters and puddles. We'd be a muddy mess, but she didn't mind. Imagine kids surviving without i-pads, laptops, etc.!

Re: Kids Having Fun!
It's wonderful to have outside kids Horizon isn't it. Our eldest were the same, always down the creek fishing and stuff or building camp fires, not allowed to do that these days!
Sebbie that sounds like an amazing childhood!! I grew up in the city so I was not so lucky!

Re: Kids Having Fun!
We were in a medium-sized town, alleyrose. And there were 8 of us kids. Since we couldn't get into any real trouble in those days, Mom probably sent us out of the house to give her a couple of hours of peace and quiet! I didn't get it then, but I sure do now!

No, absolutely not, alleyrose. Not unless the parents are multi-millionaires. My Dad was one of 12, but in those days people with farms had big families to work the farm ... and the infant mortality rate was fairly high.

Re: Kids Having Fun!
Not a lot Sebbie they are all over the country and they are a bit strange LOL! We are so busy with our grandkids and kids that we flat out have time for us LOL! We also have an 8 year old so kids just dominate out lives. We are going to start teaching them gardening as soon as we get the vege garden up and running again, they need to know how to grow food!
