PostSubject: JANUARY 1ST 2013?   Fri Dec 07, 2012 12:27 am

The first of the year starts the new fiscal year for Iraq and they say if a change is to be made that day is the day -- so if JANUARY 1st comes and nothing happens must we then wait until JANUARY 1ST 2014 for another possible change?

I know IRAQ wants to be a DONOR COUNTRY by 2014...

The Central Bank of Iraq confirmed on Wednesday, that the project of Iraqi currency redenomination will not be implemented next year, upon the request of specialized parliamentary committees to take more time with this project.

“We have delayed this project aiming to remove zeros and replace the Iraqi currency”, said the acting Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Abdul Basit Turky in a statement to Alsumaria. He stressed that “the project’s timeline has not been determined yet, however it will not take place during next year, i.e. 2013”.

“Iraqi currency redenomination is an important and necessary step to restructure the currency and the economy”, added Al Turky, who stressed that “expert parliamentary committees demanded that we slowly deal with this project, until circumstances and timing are more convenient”.

The Iraqi Cabinet decided on October 16, to commission the head of the Board of Supreme Audits, Abdul Basit Turky with the tasks of the acting Governor of the Central Bank, while the Higher Judicial Council issued on October 19 a warrant to arrest the previous Governor of the Bank and a number of officials involved in cases of corruption.

personally - a redenomination of their money does not affect their currency receiving an international tradeable value.

And yet...... we wait. Like we have been .... ever so impatiently.....
